Transfer your number from your current provider
Start by transferring your landline from your existing provider to NumberBarn. The steps, pricing and time frame on this process are right here waiting for you.
Select a plan with NumberBarn
SMS/text messaging is available on any NumberBarn plan with a US or Canadian local number. To understand what plan might be the best fit for you, check out our guide here.
Number activation to your account
If you are transferring a number to us from your landline provider, it can take anywhere from 3 business days up to 7 business days, sometimes up to 10 business days, to port to your NumberBarn account. We notify you every step of the way with regards to the status of your number transfer. To learn more about activation, watch this.
Start sending SMS
In some cases, it may take 24-48 hours for the landline number to fully propagate to the system for SMS messages. While rare, we do want to make sure you know just in case it ports and the SMS messages are not arriving to you instantly.
